These cars are available for hire at the circuits. Price includes insurance, fuel and initial instruction laps. The cars handle like classic cars but have the benefit of modern reliability. Both have leaf springs at the rear and Morgan’s famous sliding pillar suspension at the front.
Morgan 4/4 Sport Competition- “Rosie”
Taking a humble 4/4 1600cc Ford Sigma engine and adding a throttle body kit, Omex ECU, sports exhaust, sports air filter, panhard rod, adjustable shocks, safety roll bar, battery cut off switch, fire extinguisher on Avon CR6ZZ classic performance tyres and you have yourself a 150BHP fun, fast road car or a Morgan Challenge racer. The 4/4 competition model was hugely popular with drivers who love the light nimble handling but wanted more power than the standard car.
Morgan Roadster Lightweight
The Roadster Lightweight was a racing development of Morgan’s Roadster model. With a 3.0 litre Ford V6 putting out 240bhp in a car weighing 900kg it is very rapid! The car is race prepared with fuel cell, roll bar, harnesses and fire extinguisher and a race seat. Independent front suspension and rear leaf-springs ensure it handles like a vintage car, but you will be astonished at how quickly it corners and stops! The car is ideal if you already have some experience of circuit driving, or if you want to move up in power from the 4/4 Sport Competition.
The car is raced in the Morgan Challenge race series, and in the hands of the previous owner took the lap record at Anglesey Circuit.
